Twas the Thursday night before Christmas / more negative pie


Thursday night at the Wharf.  Traditionally, the night when you can hardly set foot in the bars and the boisterous roar of happy drunken voices is punctuated mainly by the smash of cratefulss of empty bottles whizzing down the chute at Smollensky's.  Not only that, but the last Thursday night before Christmas, the last chance for bosses to treat their teams to drinks and for everybody else to settle those long-standing I Owe You Ones promised in tough moments during the year.

Meanwhile, I was gobsmacked to spot an Evening Standard poster announcing that Credit Suisse has actually decided to use the NEGATIVE PIE I mentioned in my last post to pay executive bonusses.
Discussing the announcement that Credit Suisse is to use illiquid assets to pay bonusses, one analyst described the move as "monstrously clever".
